IK Multimedia offers Memory-V (€49.99 value) for Syntronik as a free download to all subscribers until February 26th.
All you have to do to get Memory-V free is subscribe to IK Multimedia’s newsletter by creating an account and following the steps provided.
If you already have an account and subscribe to the newsletter, Memory-V will be waiting for you in your IK user area.
Memory-V is a virtual instrument based on the legendary Memorymoog. The Memorymoog (1981 – 1985) is an 18-oscillator analog polysynth that is much revered for its mega-fat sound.
When emulations like this one come around, there are always people who like to make it known that the real thing is better. And, to be fair, they are right; I’d rather have an original Memorymoog, but owning one poses two problems.
The first problem is finding one in great working and cosmetic condition; the second is not fainting when you hear the price.
So, I can happily say that I’m not above virtual analog instruments; I love them. The good news is that IK Multimedia created this monster emulation through the tedious but rewarding creative recording of a pristine hardware unit. Individual oscillators, multiple oscillator combinations, and unison stacks were recorded. You can check out some demos on the IK Multimedia website.
Memory-V is fairly versatile; it can do a bit of everything. For me, if I pull it up in Syntronik, it’s usually for some kind of roaming pad or drone. I think anything that gets remotely close to the sound or the original is just fantastic for creating a bed under all your other moving parts.
The Memorymoog was famous for synth strings and brass, and in all fairness, Memory-V gets about as close as any. I particularly like that Tron string sound.
As I said, it’s more versatile than just a few pads; that just tends to be my primary use for it. I’d grab it if I didn’t already have it, and I’ve had a few freebies from IK Multimedia recently, so let’s hope they keep it up.
Memory-V has over 5GB of content and a massive amount of samples (over 5000). It has 148 factory presets and requires Syntronik 1.2 or higher or Sample Tank 3.7.2 or higher.

Confused
onAfter I’ve downloaded the IK Product Manager I download and install Syntronic easy then I go to sounds and try to install the Memory V Library and it says
WARNING: Before you can install a Sound Library, you must complete the installation of SampleTank 4 and launch it for the first time. Please click Install to proceed with SampleTank 4 installation.
So my question is – why do I need to install Sampetank4 & Syntronic??
James N
onSorry to hear you’re having trouble with it. That’s odd, I’m sure I used Syntronik long before I ever installed ST, with no issues.
IK Multimedia posted this video guide, but it seems like Syntronik should work fine on its own – https://youtu.be/oKdQR8LrS-g
If you don’t have any luck with it, maybe try contacting IK Support
Confused
onAnd now that I’ve installed SampleTank4 – Syntronik seems to access the sound bank from an incompatible file path: Sampletank3. So ….. not impressed.
Terrible product manager for me.
Confused
onI finally got it going – no thanks to the Product Miss Manager.
It’s actually got very usable/good sounds and since it’s a rompler very low CPU hit – was it worth the hassle and frustration? Maybe. Time will tell.
I think I might use it when I’m planning lots of tracks and might want to watch my CPU – or when I just want to quickly add a sound for re-sampling.

onIK MULTIMEDIA is really terrible! the products would also be discreet but it is not possible that to have a product you have to fill pc with garbage that I can not even try because I did not buy it! the demo? I decide whether to download a demo not 5 6 gb of stuff! na are you really serious? Ik? no thanks! i have the black 76 installed with 4 gb of demo products of T-Racks uselessly installed! well for free, what can i say! thanks but i refuse the offer and wait for something else.
Yukno
onjust del the demoware and keep the 1176 – vst paths and other IK stuff
Bruno de Souza Lino
onDoesn’t quite work if you want to use the standalone version of T-Racks or the One plugin. Even if you delete the VST3 plugins, they will still be there when you open these two.
Graham Potter
onAgreed. I obtained Memory-V through a previous free offer. Installation with Syntronik was a big headache. I got there in the end, but at several points I asked myself whether it was worth all the effort. I had to install SampleTank to get Memory-V working in Syntronik – shouldn’t have to, but that’s the only way I got it to work.

onI’m not a fan of their systems for downloading and installing, but I do like their actual products.

onWhile Syntronik makes it look like you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck, it’s just a big preset loader, to the point that even getting to the synth’s interface is a hassle. Plus you have 180 days to download the sounds of the plugin. Once that expires, you have to pay to have 180 days more. That logic applies even to the free sounds from Sampletank CS.
Rox Roll
onExactly, think you buy somthing and half year later you are not allowed to download,It’s alomst robbery,so I decide not to buy any soundbank from IK anyone.

onDang, never knew this, i just redeemed their freebies & then forgot about them, thinking i’d check them out much later when needed. Thanks to your msg i logged in to find that, to my horror, most of my previously redeemed free sounds are not longer downloadable without paying. Pretty angry about it, lame policy.
But oh well, thanks to BPB i have many many good alternatives.

onIt’s always a major hassle with IK MM products, hands down the worst authorization software and infrastructure. At one point they had like three different manager softwares out at the same time (authorization manager, product manager and custom shop), plus all the management in their website. It’s especially difficult when you have to redeem free gifts that are expansions (gear or soundsets) to their plugins. I never really know what is the process and I just have all softwares (+ website open) and keep clicking things until I finally get it authorized somehow and downloaded.
However their software is such great quality, that I’m always willing to do what it takes to get it. It also helps that you know upfront that it’s gonna take some perseverance and mental gymnastics to get the software installed, so you can mentally (and time-wise prepare for it). But yeah they really got to redo their whole authorization management process (even iLok would be better).

onIf you go for this offer make sure you download it quickly and keep a backup. Ik multimedia charge
£10 per download after you’ve had the product in your account for a few months.
Bani
onCan confirm. Download this thing as soon as you activate it. If you leave it hanging for too long it’ll ask you to buy a “download reactivation credit” that costs 10 bucks. Ridiculous. I’ve never seen anything like it. Not even from waves. Unbelievable…

onA bit of a sad Valentine Days gift, when this has been free three or four times already, it is nothing special. Why don’t IK set it permanently free

onIt seems that IKM don’t want to change their activation & license management procedure. They already know since many years that users feel uncomfortable with the hassle they have to go through to use IKM plugins. They don’t care that they are alienating a significant percentage of their potential user base. Very strange for a commercially run enterprise.

With that said, we are very sorry to hear of the users here with issues. We’d love to see what we can do to help anyone who is having any troubles getting their new or older sounds. I’ve made sure to pass along the comments here to the team in the meantime.
Please if you’re having issues, contact our support team here. We’ll be more than happy to look into anyone’s troubles.

We would hate for anyone to be without this free gift or any of their gear. We hope to hear back to get anyone with issues going.
Side note – In case anyone missed it, as a user mentioned earlier on in the comments, we do have a video tutorial on getting the free content. Make sure to check it out if you aren’t able to get started.

Confused
onExcept in the video link you included it doesn’t show you being forced to load Sample Tank 4 as a prerequisite to being able to download the sound bank.
Nor does it show the sounds bank then being installed in an incorrect file path and having to deduce how to solve this issue ones self.
And it also doesn’t show the 7 day wait for the support reply below:
Thanks for your patience while we got back to you.
Here is a useful video on how to walk through the process:
We hope this response has sufficiently answered your questions. If you still have any question, interests, or concerns, please reply to this email and an agent will get back to you as soon as possible. Please make sure to reply to this email and do not open another support ticket.

Confused
onAnd yes that is copied and pasted in exactly as received – so where is the video? Did someone get paid to send that Email and can I please have their job? Lmao.
Bani
onAnyone has a good experience with their tech support they’d like to share?
Confused
onLol
So when they finally did send the video link to help me with the issue it turned out to be this, and I quote, “helpful video” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKdQR8LrS-g&feature=youtu.be
I can only assume that they are deploying the term helpful in a sarcastic manner . Since they obviously weren’t interested in solving the issue I’d reported and clearly had not even read the support ticket I’d raised.
Good job IK (that’s sarcastic btw, just to be clear).
